Helping Children Build Healthy Habits
Healthy routines begin in early childhood. Through our Grow Fit® program, we encourage children to make positive choices every day by promoting nutritious meals, active play, and age-appropriate wellness education. Our goal is to help children develop lifelong habits that support their growth, health, and overall well-being.
Nutritious Meals and Snacks
Healthy eating is an important part of every child's day. We provide balanced meals and snacks that support growing bodies while introducing children to a variety of wholesome foods. Our nutrition program includes:/p>
- Fresh fruits and vegetables served regularly
- Alimentos integrales y muy ricos en vitaminas
- Foods made without artificial dyes
- Leche baja en grasa o desnatada y sin rbST (leche entera para niños hasta los 2 años)
All menus are reviewed by a registered dietitian nutritionist and meet USDA nutrition and portion guidelines. We also recognize that every child has unique dietary needs. Our schools work closely with families to accommodate food allergies, medical requirements, and religious or cultural dietary preferences. Please speak with your school director to discuss an individualized meal plan.
Active Every Day
Daily movement is an essential part of healthy development. Children enjoy structured and unstructured physical activities that build coordination, strengthen motor skills, and encourage an active lifestyle. Our daily activity goals include:
- At least 60 minutes of outdoor physical activity for toddlers and 2-year-olds
- A minimum of 120 minutes of physical activity each day for children ages 3 and older
Learning About Healthy Choices
Healthy habits are reinforced through everyday classroom experiences. Teachers introduce age-appropriate wellness concepts that help children understand how nutrition and physical activity contribute to feeling their best. Learning experiences may include:
- Reading books that encourage healthy eating and active play
- Classroom discussions about making nutritious food choices and staying active.
- Imaginative play using fruits, vegetables, and other healthy foods to build familiarity and spark curiosity.
